Trey Barton Houston Personal Injury Attorney

Richard L. “Trey” Barton, III

Richard L. “Trey” Barton, III is a Houston Texas based trial attorney that has represented a wide variety of clients over the past several years. He started his career defending individuals in automobile accidents, and quickly elevated to representing some of the largest oil and gas companies, construction companies, road contractors, and trucking companies in the state of Texas in complex personal injury matters.

Background

Trey grew up in the small town of La Grange, Texas, the son of a small business owner and a schoolteacher. Trey’s love for basketball and helping people led him to Texas A&M University to pursue a career as a high school basketball coach and special education teacher. Upon graduation, Trey made his way to Houston to pursue coaching and teaching opportunities. He coached basketball and taught special education for six years in one of the top school districts in the state of Texas before he decided to attend South Texas College of Law.

Experience

While in law school, Trey worked at a couple of law firms to help support his family, completed judicial internships with two District Court judges, and interned at the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s office. Trey graduated law school with honors in 2 ½ years (one semester ahead of schedule), and began to work for a highly respected defense firm in the Houston area. After several years at that firm, he decided to switch to a larger firm in downtown Houston to attempt to satisfy a feeling that something was missing. It was at the larger firm that Trey realized what was missing. He spent the last several years helping companies, corporate Goliaths, and insurance companies try to resolve lawsuits for the cheapest price possible. It was time to get back to his roots of helping individuals, the Davids.

Contingency Fee Law Firm in Houston

So, to do that, Trey decided to start a contingency fee law firm. Here, the law firm fronts all of the fees and expenses, and the attorney only gets paid if the client wins. Trey is married to Melissa, a native Houstonian, and licensed professional counselor. Trey and Melissa are extremely proud of their two daughters, Jacqueline and Camryn, and one son, Rix.
